I am a stay-at-home mom with two creative, thoughtful, inquisitive and…energetic boys. I was voted most likely to follow in the footsteps of my middle school choir director and I did just that. Chosen as Teacher-of-the-Year my first year out of college and absolutely in love with my job, I was the last person anyone would expect to homeschool her kids. Then my husband stumbled upon a podcast that started a conversation and long story short, well…now you’re reading this. Through my transition from classroom teacher to home educator I have discovered that education is so much more than what we learn from endless math homework and required reading assignments.
This blog is a collection of my thoughts, lessons learned and ideas on alternative forms of education. You can also find some of my writing in Secular Homeschooler Magazine.
